One close to my heart, and the other for kicks…
It is nearing Christmas, and things are probably tight for most people out there, all of us included. Even so, it is always important to remember those who have less than us. This Christmas season, I have chosen two charities that I believe are worth giving to…
The first is for the Children of Peace Foundation, a nonprofit group that my family is actively involved in and works to provide impoverished children in the Holy Land with the ability to go to school. If $4,000 is raised within the next 20 days (there is about $1000 left), the foundation will be given permanent status on GlobalGiving, which would mean significantly more revenues for years to come. Read more about this charity here.
The second charity is actually a double-whammy. The Austrian economist Bob Murphy has challenged Paul Krugman to a debate: Austrianism versus Keynesianism. So far, over $70,000 has been raised for the charity (a food bank in NYC), and your money will only be given to the charity if Krugman accepts the invitation to debate. After over a year, Krugman has yet to do so, though he often slams Austrianism as overly simplistic. See more details here, as well as a few funny videos.
