I found this video and just had to post it. Life is a miracle, and images like these (not a fan of the super-graphic) are essential toward understanding the horror of abortion…
Starting with that digression, I have two challenges to the consistency of pro-lifers…
The first is to Christians. We believe in a merciful God who has created a salvation for those of us who act & believe in accordance with His nature. Most Christians believe that God’s mercy will be granted to those who are ignorant of the “rules of the game” so to speak, and salvation is available to them. In the case of babies who are aborted before being born and having sinned, for many believers, this would be a fast-track to heaven. Doesn’t this mean that having been aborted is necessarily better than risking the fires of hell by living and growing up to be a sinner? I can think of a few reasons why this logic is flawed, but none that it is completely incorrect…
The second challenge is to the philosophical pro-lifer who is not a pacifist. If we believe in the right of self defense that can be transferred to nearby parties when the subject needing defense is unable to defend himself, AND we believe that a human being is created upon conception, consistency must require that we can use a deadly right of self defense to stop abortions. In short, one must believe in vigilantism. For those who believe these two things, I believe this conclusion is inevitable. I would like to hear why that is false.

Another: Scientific journals conclude life begins at fertilization.
