It is no surprise to those paying attention that the Bill of Rights means very little to those intent on expanding the police state. Politicians, academe, military strategists, and others spend a good deal of time advocating the revocation of the most basic of our rights, and an assault on the First Amendment is ongoing:
- One professor argues climate change deniers should be put in jail.
- Obama’s right hand, Cass Sunstein, believes that those who espouse conspiratorial or dissenting viewpoints from official government stories should also be jailed or fined.
More than that, though, is what I see as a direct linkage to the ladder/monkey experiment that I have personally seen more than once involving Facebook. I have two cousins and several good friends who have deleted me for posting my beliefs on the site. Despite the common discussion of the role of tolerance by these individuals, anything but complete homogeneity of beliefs is warrant for deletion and/or complete disgust. This is why our ideologies and beliefs never sprout wings or develop beyond stage one thinking. We are punished in our relationships by those we love just for having and expressing them…
I am not interested in the sacrifice of truth for people’s feelings. But it still is sad…
