From infanticide advised as the solution to women’s rights at a recent conference of “bio-ethicists” to movies like this, that advocate the wholesale killing of people we disagree with on petty sins (or, in a culture where sin is denied in total, perhaps this is gratuitous violence for laughs’ sake, but I digress), it is clear that as a culture we have reached a breaking point. The fact that the studio heads thought this movie would make more money than a rendition of any number of classic and beautiful novels or historical narratives speaks volumes about where our culture is today…
The only revolution left is toward tradition. Ugh.
