Could the decline of the West be a result of our lost connection with our Christian roots?
Of course correlation does not mean causation, nor does it mean connection at all. However, with the decline in morality, responsibility, hard work, and obedience to something greater than ourselves, the theory has a certain ring of truth to me. Certainly it is true that the coming spread of Islam and the Chinese is a failure on behalf of Christians everywhere to ensure that the strongest Western identity in Christianity survives.
