Book Review: Papal Teaching on Private Property – 1891 to 1981
- If you pay attention to any form of Catholic media, you have probably already heard it, but a prof at U of Illinois was recently denied an extension on his job for arguing gay sex is wrong according to the natural law and what Catholics believe. And of course, it was a hypocritical and absolutely wrong termination. Even a writer for Queerty has skepticism about it. But what bothers me here is not necessarily the fact that the Catholic Church is yet again the victim of persecution for not bowing to media and popular pressures (I have gotten used to such things), but rather that there is a glaring double standard within the academia. When is it the case that a far far left wing professor is fired for some belief about stemming world populations for the sake of “saving the planet” is denied rehire? Or much less, when was the last time that a far left-wing professor was advised to state that his beliefs were only his own and not meant to be portrayed as factual? I’ll give you a hint; it’s probably never. Man that pisses me off…
- I haven’t heard of it, but some I have asked have: divorce seems to be contagious. And you can probably see why. A newly-divorced individual has probably GOT to vent about why their relationship went wrong, and the talk makes a married person examine their own relationship. The solution to me is either to stay away from divorcees (probably difficult in totality, noting the high numbers in modern culture) or tempering any relationship examination by talking to one’s spouse. Still kinda crazy though, and it explains some of our modern shows’ “divorce clusters”…
- GodBlock.com: “GodBlock is a web filter that blocks religious content. It is targeted at parents and schools who wish to protect their kids from the often violent, sexual, and psychologically harmful material in many holy texts, and from being indoctrinated into any religion before they are of the age to make such decisions. When installed properly, GodBlock will test each page that your child visits before it is loaded, looking for passages from holy texts, names of religious figures, and other signs of religious propaganda. If none are found, then your child is allowed to browse freely.” Of course. Of course. Because the most destructive thing your child can learn about on the internet is religion. Sigh. Even the most stubborn resistance of God possible cannot deny the sociological, cultural, and political impacts of religion in this world. Shielding your children from religion is probably the most certain way to ensuring them never understanding the people of this world. But if that is what it takes to deny the Supreme Truth, I guess an internet block is the way to do it. Desperation truly knows no bounds…
- If the Catholic Church bowed to the media’s every wish, what a different church it would be…
- Whipping post of the media, Jews, atheists, and just about everyone else in popular culture, Pius XII truly was not the Nazi scum the world might have you believe. But you won’t hear anyone recant, I can guarantee that…
Same story, different day….
