If there is only one thing you read today on the anniversary of the Twin Towers’ fall, please let it be The Falling Man, by Tom Junod in Esquire.

This article is one of the best (if not the single best) periodical excerpts I have read in my life, and elicits some pretty cathartic reactions from me. The focus by the media and politicians on the attackers of 8-years-ago’s today is hardly pertinent any more, but the story of a victim of any tragedy is one that should never be forgotten. This is such a story, exceptional in every way.
