Laudato Si
I’m baaaaaaaaaaa-aaaaaack! And I have been collection information for you to think about…
- The title of this website is terribly alarmist – but the content on the linked page might be something to worry about, namely the idea that we are moving away from the industrialization that made America the economic superpower of today (Thing sure were different 100 years ago…). Even mainstream economists are beginning to realize that we will be surpassed by China if we do not do something soon (though China could blow it of course, with the corruption or continuing a central-planning system). The worst part of it is that the way we have been spending could prevent a recovery this year, or even within this decade. If things get bad enough here, you can be sure that the government will try something like a few nations in Europe recently did, seizing private pensions of individuals in order to rectify other financial holes where money had been lost. Inflation continues, and hopefully it will slow soon such that we avoid hyperinflation. Still, Bernanke is cocksure about the Fed’s efforts, which is honestly a bit disconcerting…
- Corporatism = privatizing profits and socializing losses, and it seems to be the way things work these days with bailouts and stimuli… Do you agree?
- What is the licensing requirement truly about? Not really driving, if you ask me…
- Arthur Schopenhauer will tell you how to win an argument. Of course, you could just win on the merits, but he likes the whole scumbag aspect of humanity…
A few other random facts:
- Impulsive individuals are more likely to be violent offenders. No surprises there, I suppose… Though it seems to me that as a whole, our society is becoming more impulsive by the generation, as people now want satisfaction immediately and without work. Is that the key to the rising prison population?
- 41% of pregnancies in NYC in 2009 ended in abortion. Silent genocide, indeed…
- Need sex? Try music instead. They are equivalent to your brain. I am a music addict. What does that mean?
- Upper-class people have a harder time at recognizing others’ emotions. If the rich are less empathic, what ramifications does that have for society? Any?
Finally, the youtubes you’ve been missing…
How’s that border fence working for ya?:
The fact that you cannot record the cops should be alarming to you, because they are always armed and always have the upper hand:
Rand philosophizes into showing how racism is just another form of collectivism, not one of individuality and liberty:
