Book Review: Papal Teaching on Private Property – 1891 to 1981
I haven’t been posting many articles and such lately because it just feels repetitive (and I’ve been busy & sick). Still looking for relevant blogfodder…
And it appears I have found some:
- Ford didn’t take a bailout, and look how they’re doing… Eat your heart out, Keynes!
- Facts & beliefs processed the same way?
- His conclusion is pretty much wrong, because controlling waste and spending is something the government simply cannot do, but Jonathan Cohn of TNR hits the nail right on the head with an observation of an argument against healthcare.
- Andrew Sullivan is STILL CLAIMING to be a conservative and, surprisingly, a Catholic, despite slamming the Catholic Church more than once in recent weeks. This guy is half-funny, half-sad with the way he clings to the ideological wreckage he claims is conservative [Note: I read A Conservative Soul and loved about half of it. But man, The Atlantic‘s Sullivan doesn’t seem to be the crusader I saw in that book…]. But then maybe he is right about the Church, this statement by the Bishop of Portland seems really truly hateful(!). AmericanPapist got ahold of both of these commentaries, and dissected them accordingly. Boy, am I sick of anti-Catholicism, especially if it is supposedly in the name of rights…
- Politicians + Economics = Disaster
- Sowell breaks bureaucracy & healthcare down so even an idiot can understand in his three columns this week: 1, 2, 3.
- They say monogamy is outdated. Disgusting. GetReligion is on the case…
- Racism, racism, racism, it’s all I ever hear about…
- Stories of honor among thieves are my favorite. Chaotic good is the most appealing kind to an 8…
- Don’t look out the window in the morning to check what you need to wear! Just look at what Obama is wearing!
- All you ever wanted to know about Scientology, in comic strip form.
- Copyright is about to change lots. And that sucks. Nothin’ like executive legislation…
