The way I see it, there can be some kind of “disorder” relating to attention/hyperactivity, but the problem is the real analysis is skewed by labeling ANY signs of attention/hyperactivity as proof of the disorder.
So for example, 99.9% of boys will be distracted and act out and get sugar highs and such and be rowdy…THAT’S NORMAL. It is these boys who are none the less being targeted.
Now there very well could be a growing population of children who are deeply troubled by divorce, video games, too much tv, etc, etc, and this can lead to poor mental formation and such, and thus very well can make it impossible to sit still or pay attention.

Agreed. I think it has some to do with lazier parenting, and some to do with instant gratification.
