Book Review: Papal Teaching on Private Property – 1891 to 1981
On a comment thread about libertarianism and Catholicism under his recent post. The guy really is somewhat clueless in this area, preferring to repeat “Romans 13, Romans 13, Romans 13, Romans 13, Romans 13, Romans 13” ad nauseam, as if the fundamentalist reading of one line in the Bible is ammunition enough to destroy the most basic of natural laws. This is why I stopped listening to the guy years ago when it comes to the political arena – his brand of Catholicism, is very clearly not the only one that is acceptable.
The truth of the matter is that Catholics should be libertarians, minarchist or anarchist.

How dare you! Mark Shea believes only what the church believes! Clearly if you don’t agree with his belief, then you don’t believe what the church does and are a heretic! Shun! /end sarcasm 😉
You get banned there yet? (I’ve found the fastest time to do so is to quote his own words contradicting his own words. XD) The most fun is watching when he deliberately tries stirring a pot up. If you keep an active watch on the thread, you’ll notice that long, thoughtful disagreements will have a tendency to vanish (exception: you’re a long time poster) while the ranting, trolling comments will “stay up”. Often admitted by Shea because he “wants people to see what he has to deal with”.
Ain’t it the truth! Ha. I have not been banned, because I comment about once every 5 years when he puts something out there that digs. This one qualified.
Nice blog, BTW. Do you read fantasy stuff in addition to writing scripts?
Thanks for the comment.
